Talley Kaleko

B.A., Florida State University, 1997.  J.D., Summa Cum Laude, Florida State University Law School, 2000, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif and was a member of the Law Review as well as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy.  Member, Florida Bar.

While in law school, Talley published A Bold Step: What Florida Should Do Concerning the Health of Its Rural Communities, Licensure, and Telemedicine, 27 Fla. St. U. L. Rev. No. 3 (Spring 2000), and was the recipient of the University Fellowship and the Florida Bar Foundation Public Service Fellowship.

Prior to joining Florida Legal Research, Talley clerked for Judge Robert Hinkle in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida.  After completing her clerkship, Talley practiced for six years with Cox & Burns, PA, in Tallahassee, Florida, in the areas of appellate law, personal injury, insurance law, legal and medical malpractice, commercial litigation, and civil rights.  While in practice, Talley worked on a number of significant appeals, including Jones v. Martin Elec., Inc., 932 So. 2d 1100 (Fla. 2006) (before the Florida Supreme Court on a question of great public importance).

Since joining FLR, Talley has performed appellate work for numerous Florida attorneys, writing appellate motions, writs, initial briefs, answer briefs, and reply briefs on diverse issues of constitutional law, torts, family law, workers' compensation, criminal law, immigration, and commercial contractual disputes.  Other significant projects have included numerous summary judgments, motions to dismiss, and responses thereto involving time-sharing and condominium law, other real estate matters, family law, automobile collisions, premises liability, contract claims, insurance law, including coverage disputes and bad faith, complex commercial litigation, employment law, civil rights and discrimination law, Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, and constitutional law.  In addition to the more comprehensive pleadings and memoranda, Talley does extensive work for attorneys in drafting complaints, answers, affirmative defenses, and in basic motions and discovery preparation.

When not working, Talley enjoys spending time with her three children and husband.  She is actively involved in her church and serves as the director of the Youth and Teen programs.  Talley also enjoys the outdoors, biking with her family, and traveling.
