    Contract Law Legal Research

Questions of contract law may arise in almost any situation in which human beings deal with each other.  The widely varying factual settings in which contract disputes occur should not, however, obscure the fact that most such controversies are governed by similar contractual principles.

NLRG's vast experience in different contractual contexts gives us the ability to identify key principles governing a controversy.  Resolution of the contract dispute requires the application of these principles to the facts of a particular case.  A few of the many areas of contract issues that NLRG frequently encounters include the following:

    COMMON BUSINESS CONTRACTS

The National Legal Research Group has experienced business law attorneys that assist fellow attorneys with reviewing and writing common business contracts. These include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Non-Disclosure Agreements
    • Bill of Sale
    • Licensing Agreement
    • Power of Attorney
    • Consulting Agreement
    • Independent Contractor Agreement
    • Idemnity Agreement
    • Partnership Agreement
    • Non-Competee Agreement

    CONTRUCTION CONTRACTS

Our team of contract attorneys has a great deal of experience dealing with construction contracts and construction law related issues. Construction contracts cover the full range of the legal process relating to construction projects – from the initial bidding of the project, to the negotiation, and to creating the agreements. Having the contracts properly written and reviewed can save you and your client from a lot of potential issues. Common topics we handle are the following:

    • Rights of the various parties to construction agreements (e.g., owner, architect, contractor, subcontractor, and supplier) against each for construction failures
    • Rights and obligations of surety and contractors under public and private construction bonds
    • Owner's and contractor's damages for breach of contract
    • Contractor's claims for extras

    EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS

Our experienced employment law attorneys can assist you and your client with writing effective employment contracts. We understand that employment contracts that are not well-written can cost the employee or employer a significant amount of time and money. We can write or proof-read your contracts to make sure legal minimums are covered, as well as these common topics:

    • Rights of employer to terminate
    • Rights of employee to rely on promises in employee manuals and personnel policies distributed by employer
    • Employee's duties under noncompetition agreements
    • Employer's right to prevent employee from using trade secrets and confidential information in absence of noncompetition agreement

    Testimonials

"I have used The Research Group on several occasions and have been amazed at the excellent quality of their research and writing skills. My businesses use Research Group on certain matters and have found that the cost is substantially lower and in those cases the quality of the work is generally higher.  If I managed a large firm I'd insist that Research Group handle many research matters which could be billed to the clients at a profit (and possibly cut my staffing requirements and overhead."
    Tony Pieroni, Troy, MI

"As always, Jeremy Taylor handles my matters professionally and well.  He is a great contact and representative of NLRG.
